Thrasher Magazine was launched in 1981 by Kevin Thatcher, Eric Swenson and Fausto Vitello (RIP) out of San Francisco, USA. It mainly features skating, although it also has a lot of music related content.
These days, Thrasher are well known for their ‘Skater of the Year’ award which was first awarded to Tony Hawk in 1990, other winners have included Danny Way, Jon Cardiel, Geoff Rowley, Arto Saari, Marc Johnson, Daewon Song, Grant Taylor and 2014’s winner Wes Kremer.
They’ve also got a huge video back catalogue but now focus largely on online clips including the infamous ‘Hall of Meat’ slam section.
You can watch just about any old skate video and guarantee someone somewhere will be wearing a Thrasher t-shirt or hoody, they’re designs are timeless and probably more popular today than ever before. Fashions come and go but you’ll never go wrong with some Thrasher gear!
They currently manufacture: hoodies, crew sweats, t-shirts, longsleeves, jogging bottoms, caps, beanies, socks and sunglasses.
