Wasteland Skateboards is an independent British skateboard brand created in Margate, Kent, by longtime skateboard industry figure Nic Powley and illustrator Jon Horner. Named after T.S. Eliot's famous poem The Waste Land, which was partly written in a seafront shelter opposite Skate Pharm overlooking the North Sea, the brand combines local literary history with a distinctly offbeat approach to skateboarding. At the heart of Wasteland is an illustrated post-apocalyptic world in which a lone survivor navigates a deserted landscape with his skateboard, using his ingenuity to survive while protecting his most treasured possession: a single potted plant. Developed with younger skateboarders and beginners in mind, Wasteland brings imaginative storytelling, distinctive artwork and a sense of humour to accessible skateboard products. Its range is centred around complete skateboards, alongside graphic clothing, stickers and illustrated merchandise. Rooted in Margate and built around creativity, Wasteland celebrates skateboarding as a means of adventure, escape and self-expression.
